Camber Sands Beach

Things to do in Camber Sands

Camber Sands is one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in East Sussex, known for its vast sandy beach, rolling dunes, and big open skies. Just a short distance from Rye, it’s the perfect place for families, couples, and groups looking to relax, explore, and enjoy the fresh sea air. Whether you’re planning a weekend break or a longer stay, Camber Sands offers a mix of laid-back beach days, scenic walks, and simple pleasures.

Beach Days at Camber Sands

The main attraction is, of course, the beach. Unlike many pebble beaches along the south coast, Camber Sands is famous for its soft golden sand and shallow waters.

  • Ideal for families with young children
  • Perfect for long walks along the shoreline
  • Great for paddling, picnics, and sandcastle building
  • On windy days, it’s also a popular spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing.

Budget-Friendly Things to Do

A stay in Camber doesn’t have to be expensive, some of the best experiences are completely free.

  • Spend the day at the beach with a picnic
  • Explore the sand dunes and wildlife
  • Watch the sunset over the sea
  • Cycle or walk along the surrounding coastal paths - we have E-bike or pedal bike hire in Camber village.
  • If you’re travelling with children, a simple beach day here can easily fill an entire day.

Walks Around Camber & Rye Harbour
